My supervisor of nearly two years is retiring from the workforce. Effective at close of business +1 minute tonight, he is not required to be on the premises at any given time. I hope to see him at future cookouts and holiday parties, and maybe on the road somewhere while we’re out camping in our RV, but the building will never be the same without him.
He worked for the company for seven years. During his time, he put in plenty of hard work and demonstrated his dedication to the company. While he served as my supervisor, he demonstrated leadership skills, taught us the meaning of team cohesiveness, and never stopped pushing us to reach our full potential. He was everything encouraging. I will miss his stories, his laughter, his dry humor, his old jokes and his funny jokes. He’s a good man. He will be missed deeply. In his honor, my teammates and I pitched in to throw him an awesome party.

Each Friday, the building has a competition called cake Friday in which several Cake Friday participants bring in cake. All cake Friday recipients eat cake and then vote for the best tasting cake. Winner of Cake Friday gets the title of Cake Princess, complete with sash, tiara, and wand.
My supervisor happened to be this week’s cake Princess:

We bought him a decorated Edible Arrangement as a sweet parting gift:

Overhead Shot:

Long before joined out company, he worked in show business. He worked as a clown for two predominant circuses in the 1970′s. Over the years, he told us many stories, but he still wanted to be sure that we believed him. Earlier this week,. he brought in a picture of himself in character. When he slipped away from his desk, a fellow Supervisor had a co-worker scan it. I went out to put it on his cake:

The guy on the cake looks just like the guy holding it:

Wonder what it is:
